What’s next?
August 24th, 2010Journal Junky is One Year Young! We celebrated Sunday with a cosy afternoon tea at our home, which also happens to be Journal Junky’s home.
We had a small group of important guests. All the people who have supported helped and encouraged me in getting Journal Junky off the ground.
So is it ‘We’ or just ‘me’ behind Journal Junky you may be curious? The truth is both. Journal Junky is my baby, my passion and business enterprise, there’s no doubt about that. The ‘We’ is my amazing family. My sexy hubby Toby and my attitude packed son Kye. Seriously without their support none of what Journal Junky has achieved over the last year would have been possible.
Even down to our 1st anniversary do on Sunday. Without Toby’s help to organise and clean everything, prepare food & collect a special guest from the train station. The day would not have happened. I’m so, so very grateful for Toby & his support.
Kye’s less about support and more about motivation. Kye’s my little challenger, who says ‘oh you think you’re so good? You think you can make your dream a success? Well maybe Mum? Show me!’ Yes, Kye will believe I’m successful when I can prove it and he’s thinking $ not just happiness.
And truly that’s what this New Year brings me to. It’s well and good to have a dream, to love the work that I do, to be passionate & committed. Those things however will not pay for the farm or put food on the table.
As I move into my second year of business I’m aware that I need to get good at turning the beautiful products, helpful information & passion I have into dollars.
I’ve learnt that it doesn’t matter how great something is, if people don’t know about it they won’t be buying it. I’ve also learnt that my idea of soft sell has been a little soft. I need to stop hoping people will see the value Journal Junky offers and love it and start telling people how great what we’re offering here really is, loud and proud!
So stand by for some changes. I’ll be working to bring you lots more info and insights into the amazing benefits of Journal Writing and the Powerful, Life Changing Tools that are available here at Journal Junky. Looking forward to sharing this adventure with you as it happens.
With all my love and thanks, Soli
