My secret money shame

October 27th, 2011
Soli's jottings

Time to out myself. We are currently broke! Mmmm that feels better.

Despite so much great and exciting stuff happening in my life atm we’ve got money issues.

What’s been so interesting about our current state of affairs is how much shame there seems to be around being in a cashflow negative state. It’s like this unwritten agreement that it’s not OK to talk about money and it’s certainly not OK if it’s not going well.

No one wants to hear that you’re financially stressed. I guess it feels uncomfortable and awkward. Like people just don’t know quite what to say or how to handle that truth.

I have to admit Donald Trump must get credit for having me understand financial pressure in a much greater context. Money (like every other form of energy in life) has flow. It flows in, it flows out and it’s all connected to everything else. What matters is not what is currently happening, what matters is how we’re handling what’s currently happening. Our ability to handle pressure is what will make or break us.

It’s true I know we create our own reality. So yes, I’ve created myself right to this place. What’s new about arriving here this time is that I’m cool with it. I’m not freaking out at all. I can accept that the choices I’ve made have brought me here. Which is exciting because from where I am now I have so many more new choices. I know I’m creating a whole new awesome and more abundant reality that I’m stepping into.

I guess what I wanted to ask here was, are you uncomfortable around money stuff? Do you somehow think how much money someone has or doesn’t have is any reflection of their actual worth?

For me that’s what this situation has cleared up. I can feel clearly that who I am and what I have to offer in the world has nothing to do with money. I am worthy because I am an inseparable, intrinsic, precious and perfectly unique part of all that is. I feel worthy when I choose to know that I am.

This is a POWERFUL place to be. To know, to feel on the inside, clear that I am valuable beyond measure, as we all are. That money no matter how much could never be a true reflection of my infinite worth.

With all that said, having finally got crystal clear on what money is not. Money is not the answer to anything. I can choose to feel and Be my amazing self with or without it. Money is a very helpful, useful tool when it is used to serve in creating a happy, healthy life we love.  And that I am on board with for mega tonnes.

So from this place of having just enough to eat and run our cars. Form this place of having a big pile of unpaid bills. From this place of possibly having to borrow money from our family to pay our mortgage this month. From this place of no money. Now I choose wealth! I’m ready! We’re ready!

Having faced our stuff and cleared our crud we’re ready to create mega wealth knowing what that means. Knowing what money can provide and what can only ever come from within. We’re ready & it’s exciting!        Soli 🙂

Yes, it is about what money is, and what money is not. The abundance in our life is what we recognise and give attention to. Lets tend to that garden of plenty.
